Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) is a very serious safety practice for every organization that aims to provide protection to its employees. It is designed to help improve safety in a facility. When implemented correctly, it can help to dramatically reduce the risks associated with maintenance and servicing of the machinery or equipment.
1. Protect Employees
Protects employees and visitors from uncontrollable hazardous energy that may escape from machines or equipment during isolation or servicing.
2. Create Awareness
Create awareness to employees so they know not to use or go near the machinery or equipment on LOTO.

Equipment and machinery identified for LOTO are capable of unexpected start-ups which may result in the harmful release of hazardous energy.
